Breathwork
“Only through breathing deeply and fully can one summon the energy
for a more spirited and spiritual life.”
– Alexander Lowen in his book “Bioenergetics”
Biodynamic Breathwork releases trauma.
Throughout our lives, we experience painful, stressful, or traumatic events that get blocked in our physical bodies when we don’t receive the proper support to release them.
Our life energy becomes repressed and restricted, confined by physical holding patterns. Our breath becomes constricted, the tension in the body increases, and we get stuck in emotional and behavioral patterns that we don’t know how to change.
Through the breath, we can release these physical tensions and traumas stored in the body and mind and heal at the cellular level. Our breath allows us to connect with our authentic selves and allow deep healing to occur.
Heal naturally with BioDynamic Breathwork.
BioDynamic Breathwork empowers your body’s natural process for healing, allowing the body to release chronic tension and stuck emotions.
Recovery from trauma requires attention to the body, mind, and spirit. If we want true healing, we should not overlook these dimensions of our being.
People worldwide have used breath as a tool for healing since ancient times. Breathwork uses conscious manipulation or control of breathing patterns to achieve specific results.
The amounts of oxygen and carbon dioxide we take in, expel, or maintain in our blood directly affect our physical bodies and well-being.

What is Biodynamic Breathwork?
BioDynamic Breathwork is a therapeutic approach that uses the breath as the primary tool with the help of supporting elements such as movement, touch, sound, conscious emotional expression, and meditation to support trauma release and healing on the somatic level.
BioDynamic Breathwork heals trauma by releasing core tension and supporting clients to complete arrested trauma-related survival responses.
Here’s what to expect in a Breathwork session.
Sessions are approximately 75-90 minutes.
We start with an initial discussion of your specific needs and experience. Then, we work on continuous deep-connected breathing to charge the body and set the pace for the session.
Tensions, past experiences, and holding patterns in the mind/body become activated by the breath.
Conscious touch, movement, and sound support physical and emotional release, and meditation and sharing help integrate the experience.
How do you prepare for a breathwork session?
It’s best to wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing that allows for freedom of movement.
Eat a light meal at least 1-2 hours before the session, and drink lots of water, as Breathwork is detoxifying.
Bring water to the session.
There are six elements of BioDynamic Breathwork.
Breath – Deep connected breathing helps accelerate the body, activating specific belts of muscular tension and emotional patterns.
Movement – Somatic and creative movement exercises allow vibration and help release energy in the body’s tissue. Activities may include fascial opening, core tension release, and therapeutic use of dance. Movement is key to what makes BBTRS genuinely transformative. That movement can consist of playful warm-ups, whole-body shaking, and undulating spinal waves.
Sound – The effects of sound on our nervous system are truly remarkable. Sound is one of the most potent and supportive tools we can use in sessions. With conscious intention and creative use, vocalization and music are tremendous resources in sessions.
Touch – BBTRS uses conscious touch at many levels, ranging from the body’s energetic field to contact with core muscles. Touch applied with sensitivity helps increase awareness and support energy flow.
Emotions – Soft emotional release can be a part of a BBTRS® session but not a goal. You will receive support to stay present while revisiting deeper feelings and sensations – and to return to your sense of comfort whenever necessary. This balance is key to the BBTRS® approach and supports you in releasing and integrating trauma rather than reliving it or becoming overwhelmed by it.
Meditation – Meditation is where BBTRS® begins and ends. We use meditation to support connecting to the body and integrating the work done in a session. We also encourage meditation between sessions to support the work done in the sessions.
